1 Hour Lectures:

These lectures are webinar style, with content and Q&A afterward. A follow-up discussion session may be available depending on interest. These range from sharing my communicative experiences, discussing ableism, overviews of supporting individuals who communicate through AAC, empowering language, and more. 6 Week Series:

I offer a range of courses that run weekly for 6 weeks. Each class meets at the same time each week and runs for an hour. These are more discussion based than the lectures and delve deeper into topics. The most recent series has just concluded; the time and date of the next series is TBD. Fill out this form to express your interest and availability.

Ableism, power imbalance, co-dependency, and victimization: Professionals who support individuals with AAC needs will learn in this 6-week course how to empower your client(s) by discussing the cultural attitudes and their impact on providing services, how to advocate with your client(s) in a positive, productive way, various methods of supporting their communicative abilities, and how to encourage them to have autonomy, independence, and a healthy sense of self.

Emotional regulation: Professionals who support individuals with AAC needs will learn in this 6-week course how to empower your client(s) who communication through AAC to manage their emotions and how society and the cultural attitudes influence these individuals’ abilities to regulate and discuss their emotions.

Family course: People who have family members with AAC needs will learn in this 5-week course how to empower your family member(s) by discussing the misconceptions from our community, how to advocate with your family member(s) in a positive, productive way, the approaches of how to support their communicative abilities, and how to encourage them to have autonomy, independence, and a healthy sense of self.

AAC Communicators course: People who have AAC needs (AAC Communicators) will learn in this 5-week course how to increase your autonomy, independence, and have a healthy sense of self by discussing misconceptions from our community, how to advocate for yourself in a positive, productive way, and different strategies for being your best self.

The courses are free with a suggested donation. The suggested donation is $10 per class or $50 for a five week course. It is understandable if you would not be able to cover the suggested donation and your ability to participate is not dependent on your ability to donate. Any donations are greatly appreciated and help to cover the cost of running these courses! The link to donate is available at the bottom of this page.
